Meet Gary McGann, guest of honour

We are delighted to welcome a special guest at “Neylons Academy for Growth” graduation ceremony on Friday, May 20th: Gary McGann.

Gary has a long and interesting journey and will share his insight and wisdom with our guests and graduates.

Gary is the Chairman of Flutter plc (formerly Paddy Power Betfair plc), Sicon Ltd (Sisk Group) and Aon Ireland.

On his journey and in his previous roles, he has gained a rich experience as
– Group CEO of the Smurfit Kappa Group plc
– CEO of Aer Lingus Group
– CEO of Gilbeys of Ireland
– Chair of Aryzta AG
– Director of Green Reit Plc.
– President of IBEC (Irish Business and Employers’ Confederation)

A few years ago, Gary shared with the Irish Times one of the lessons he has learned over the years:

“People-the most important thing. Deals, IPOs, transactions, they’re all just moments in time. It’s people, the talent you left embedded, that’s what matters most.” (Source: Irish Times). And we couldn’t agree more!

Gary is also invested in helping others. He is a director of Barnardos and The Ireland Funds, two organisations supporting our communities. Barnados work with families and partners to transform the lives of vulnerable children affected by adverse childhood experiences (https://loom.ly/8NMtxQg.
