Executive Academy – Starting a new chapter

In May 2022 Neylons Facility Management launched our Executive Academy programme.

Our Executive Academy has been launched as a development of our ‘Academy for Growth’ programme which has been successfully operating since 2014 within our company.

We invited a number of members of our Senior Management Team to apply to join the Academy with 10 candidates being selected from applications to join our programme.

Anca Cioloca, Training Manager, and Martina Conroy, Procurement Manager, both started with us over 10 years ago as general operatives. Their potential and leadership qualities were greatly appreciated, and they attended and graduated from our first Academy for Growth in 2014. Since then, their journeys have been inspirational.

Anca shares: “I had the privileged to be part of the first Academy For Growth in 2014. I still remember the day; it was very special! Together, with my colleagues and mentors, we explored the basics of this in-house management course, which later, became a career-changing opportunity for many of our Neylons managers & supervisors. Now with the Executive Academy, I feel that the company has reached the highest level and this Academy consolidates the efforts and willingness of Neylons to support employees to grow and succeed in their roles. The launch module of our Neylons Executive Academy took place in September at the Prince of Wales in Athlone, where the delegates were joined by our Directors who all spent a great day together sharing our aspirations and reflections on our company and pending Executive Academy programme.

The energy in the room was electric throughout the day, our team laughed, and cried, sharing openly and honestly with colleagues across a range of paradigms.

Our ‘ Executive Academy’ has been introduced to recognise ‘Academy for Growth’ graduates who have continued to exhibit outstanding potential and capacity to develop further within our business.

Our  Executive Academy Mission Statement and Vision is to identify and develop future Neylons Executives, providing a supportive environment to access their talent and become the best version of themselves that they can be, whilst creating the foundation for the future Leaders and Managers within Neylons.

The Neylons Executive Academy will be held every 2 years within our company. The initial 12 months focusing on a series of specific subject-based Modules, and the second 12 months,  being a programme of mentoring support put in place to assist embed and develop the skills and knowledge gained throughout the educational modules.

During the first 12 months in addition to the educational modules, delegates will be allocated a buddy within the inaugural group and they will jointly be tasked with a project to complete during the term, focusing on different areas of our business.

Towards the conclusion of the first year of the Academy, each delegate will be assigned a Mentor from the Neylons Board of Directors. The mentoring programme will initially be put in place for a 12-month period in line with year 2 of the Executive Academy programme.

Mentoring support will include face-to-face and virtual meetings on a monthly basis where the mentee highlights areas where they require support and informs the mentor of successes and challenges in their role, specifically with regard to implementing skills and processes learnt during the Executive Academy programme.

Upon successful Executive Academy completion, there will be a Graduation ceremony to celebrate and applaud the delegates as they continue to build their career with Neylons and we welcome our clients joining us at this event.
