We Care Where Our Food Comes From
The food accreditations our suppliers have achieved include:
- Sustainable Egg Assurance Scheme (SEAS) – Bord Bia
- Bord Bia Quality Assurance for Bacon, Beef, Chicken, Duck, Eggs, Fruit, Lamb, Pork, Turkey, and Vegetables
- Fairtrade & Rainforest Alliance
- The MSC’s fishery certification programme and seafood ecolabel recognise and reward sustainable fishing
These accreditations provide you with trusted reassurance with regard to food production standards that we are committed to maintain.
Our Environmental & Social Accountability Policy
We recognise that our catering operations create waste, which have a negative environmental impact. Waste generation contributes to the depletion of natural resources and to increased demand for waste management capacity.
We recognise that landfill is not a sustainable waste management option, and thus we must continue to meet the challenge of identifying innovative solutions to preventing or minimising catering waste at source, whilst maximising opportunities for reuse, recovery and recycling.
As such, we acknowledge that as our business grows, reducing waste will continue to be a major challenge for us. At Neylons we avoid the use of one-off plastic bottles and offer canned drinks as an alternative which is a better choice for the environment. Recycling facilities will be implemented, and our team are trained to understand waste management requirements in terms of separation and segregation of waste.
Our strategic principles in relation to the management of catering waste are:
- We segregate our waste in our catering operations using recycling bins that our collected by our approved waste disposal contractor to their recycling plant
- To focus on waste reduction/minimisation rather than treatment solutions to manage waste more efficiently
- We instil best-practice in waste management at our catering operations and in partnership with our suppliers
Energy and Emissions
Our business consumes energy, which has both a financial and environmental cost.
Neylons strategic principles in relation to the management of energy and emissions are:
- To reduce our dependence on and consumption of finite fossil fuels
- To reduce emissions, conserve resources and reduce expenditure on energy
- To instil best practices and reduce the lifecycle energy costs of our operations.
Society Communities
As a responsible business, we see part of our role as contributing in a positive way to the communities in which we live and work.
We achieve this by being a good neighbour, by supporting family businesses which in turn, provide employment and opportunities, thereby stimulating local economies, generating revenue and building prosperity.
