Beautiful Ireland : Our favourite places to visit

At Neylons, we love Ireland! No matter if we were born here or not, Ireland has a special place in our hearts.

Mountains, beaches, sea cliffs, lakes, castles, busy streets and people…Ireland is a beautiful and magical place.

Here’s our favourite places to visit!

1. Achill Island

On the West Coast, one hour away from Westport, Achill Island is one of our Irish gems.

From lovely sandy beaches, sea side cliffs to majestic mountains,  and passing by a deserted village, enjoy the breath-taking landscapes.

2. Diamond Hill

Diamond Hill is an isolated peak of the Twelve Bens in the Connemara National Park.

Encompassing almost 3,000 hectares of mountain, bog and woodland, the Park’s visitor centre is the ideal spot to start your 7 km walk up the 400 m high Diamond Hill – where you will treated to a panoramic views across all of Connemara.

Choose between two walks and enjoy the amazing view!

3. Dog’s Bay

Just a short drive from Roundstone Village in Connemara, Dogs Bay is a horseshoe shaped bay with more than a mile long stretch of white sandy beach made of fragments of seashells.

4. The Burren

The Burren National Park is known for its impressive lunar landscape, that brings you in another world.  The Burren is the most extensive area of limestone pavement in Europe, with a unique floral diversity.

Just breathe and enjoy the silence…

5. Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher rise to 702 feet (214 m) at their highest point and range for 8 kms (5 miles) over the Atlantic ocean. Enjoy a breathtaking view, stand on the edge of the world and admire spectacular sunsets.

Dingle Peninsula is a magical place. Enjoy the stunning view from Conor Pass, the highest mountain pass in Ireland. Even in the rain or fog, Conor Pass is worth the trip.  Long distance views disappear as you literally drive up into the clouds. Follow The Slea Head Drive and discover the western part of the Peninsula and its fantastic beaches and coves. Find a great spot for a picnic high above the ocean at Dunmore Head.

Plan your trip and discover all the activities you can do:

7. Killarney National Park

One of our colleagues said Killarney National Park is “the closest to Paradise I’ve ever been”. Killarney is a beautiful place between lakes and mountains.  There is so much to experience… beautiful Muckross House & Gardens, Torc Waterfall, Ross castle and so much more! The best way to explore this beautiful place is walking or cycling.

8. Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is a loop with stunning views on the Iveragh Peninsula.  You should drive clockwise to avoid getting stuck in traffic and start your day early. Enjoy your road trip!
